Project details

The purpose of the 2009 HURIDOCS Conference, Human Rights Council and International Criminal Court: The New Challenges for Human Rights Communications is to reflect upon how information about human rights can be communicated more effectively by NGOs to institutions such as the Human Rights Council (HRC) and the International Criminal Court (ICC).

The conference will explore, in particular, how advances in Information and Communication Technologies can be harnessed to benefit human rights communications.

The conference will bring together representatives of human rights organisations that are concerned with the collection, management and communication of information on human rights and human rights violations, as well as human rights advocates.

The congress will give the participants the opportunity to examine the latest standards, tools and techniques for managing and communicating human rights information, to express their needs, and exchange experiences and lessons learned in this area.
